Description

Herakles wrestles Nereus, the old man of the sea. The sea-god is depicted with a serpentine fish-tail in place of legs. Herakles stands with arms firmly locked around his chest, and legs astride his tail. The pair are surrounded by swimming fish. Seventeen Nereides dance in a circle around the pair.
